About

New here? Welcome to the cozy chaos.

Whether you’re looking for your next great read, honest reviews, or a little bookish company, you’re in the right place. Take a look around, explore what catches your eye, and hopefully leave with a few new additions to your TBR.

Meet Arielle

Hi there, I’m a Cuban Latina, neurodivergent reader with ADHD, book reviewer, mom, and digital marketing student who is usually juggling real life with a coffee in one hand and a book in the other.

I started this blog as a place to share honest book reviews, new release thoughts, cozy recommendations, and all the reader chaos that does not always fit into a quick social media caption. Around here, we talk about books that make us swoon, gasp, cry, spiral, stay up too late, and occasionally question our taste in fictional men.

My reading taste is a mix of romance, magic, suspense, emotional damage, strong heroines, plot twists, and love interests who probably need therapy but have excellent banter.

Basically, if a book has romantic tension, fantasy worlds, complicated characters, murdery secrets, or a cover pretty enough to photograph, I am probably interested.

What You’ll Find Here

Sorry I’m Reading is a book blog for mood readers and book lovers who want honest recommendations without the stiff, overly polished review voice.

Here, you’ll find:

  • Honest book reviews
  • New release reviews
  • Romance book recommendations
  • Romantasy and fantasy favorites
  • Thriller and suspense reads
  • Mood reader guides
  • Seasonal reading lists
  • Bookish thoughts and reader-life posts

I review books from the perspective of a real reader, a mood reader, and someone whose ADHD brain needs a book to actually hold my attention. I care about pacing, characters, chemistry, tropes, emotional payoff, world-building, plot twists, and whether a book made me want to keep turning the pages.

What I Read and Review

I mostly read and review:

  • Romance
  • Romantasy
  • Fantasy
  • Thrillers
  • Suspense
  • Young adult fantasy
  • Young adult romance

I am especially drawn to books with emotional stakes, addictive pacing, beautiful covers, strong character dynamics, and stories that make real life feel a little more magical.

I review new releases, upcoming releases, ARCs, audiobooks, and backlist books that align with my reading interests and audience. I especially love discovering books that readers will want to talk about, recommend, and obsess over together.

My Review Style

My reviews are honest, thoughtful, and reader-focused.

I am not here to sound like a literary robot. I want my reviews to feel like you are talking to a bookish friend who will tell you what worked, what did not, what made me swoon, what dragged, what surprised me, and whether the book deserves a spot on your already out-of-control TBR.

As a neurodivergent reader, I also pay attention to how readable a book feels. Pacing matters. Chapter length matters. Emotional connection matters. If a book grabs me quickly, keeps me invested, or helps me escape when my brain feels loud, I am going to talk about that.

Not every book is for every reader, and that is okay. My goal is to be fair, respectful, and honest while helping you decide if a book matches your current mood, taste, and reader era.

A Little More About Me

Outside of reading, I’m a mom, a student, a Cuban American creative, and a marketing lover with a deep interest in storytelling, publishing, book publicity, and online reader communities. I love thinking about why certain books connect with readers, how stories find their audience, and how a good recommendation can turn into someone’s next favorite read.

I’m also a mood reader, which means my TBR is more of a suggestion than a plan. Some days I want swoony romance. Some days I want fae courts and dragons. Some days I want a thriller that makes me suspicious of everyone. And some days I just want a book that lets me disappear for a while.

That is the heart of this blog: finding the right book for the right mood, especially when real life is busy, overstimulating, emotional, chaotic, or all of the above.

Work With Me

I am open to reviewing select physical books, audiobooks, and eARCs in romance, romantasy, fantasy, thrillers, suspense, and young adult titles.

Physical copies are especially appreciated for photography and cover features on my blog and social media. Audiobooks are also preferred because they allow me to review more efficiently and share content sooner.

Reviews may be shared on Sorry I’m Reading, Instagram, Threads, Goodreads, TikTok, and NetGalley when applicable.

For review requests, collaborations, or bookish opportunities, please reach out through my contact page.

Thank you for being here. I hope this blog helps you find your next favorite book, your next fictional obsession, or at the very least, another excellent excuse to ignore responsibilities for one more chapter.
